How to Delete Your Account
The fastest way is in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Deletion starts immediately, no email needed.
You can also request deletion via email:
- Send an email to support@help-y.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request"
- Include the email address associated with your Helpy account
- We will process your request within 7 days
- You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been deleted
What Data Is Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is anonymized or removed:
- Profile information - Your name, email, profile photo, phone number, and location are anonymized as part of the deletion process
- Push notification tokens - Your device push tokens are removed
- Your posts - Deactivated and no longer shown to anyone
- Sessions and sign-in identities - Removed, so the account can no longer be accessed
Data Retention
The deletion process begins without undue delay, and remaining personal data is deleted or anonymized within 90 days. A limited set of records is kept where the law requires it or to prevent fraud and abuse: chat messages you sent remain visible to the other participant (shown as "Deleted User"), and proof of your acceptance of our Terms is retained.
